Hello my beautiful lovelies!
First of all, just a reminder that this week we're starting life group a little early (6:00 to be exact) so that we can do a little easter special. We should (hopefully) still be done at the same time, but there is a smidgen of a possibility that we will still go a little long. But it will be well worth it...promise.
Also, somebody posted this video on a friend of mines facebook page a couple of weeks ago. It's a little different and it took me a minute to get into it, but once i did i absolutely loved it. Give it a look. I'm telling you...SO GOOD.

Dream Center/Spring Break CHANGES!
Hey loves! There's been a few significant changes to the spring break/dream center opportunities. Here's all the info!
As many of you know we have our Spring Break Mission to the AR Dream Center coming up in just a few weeks. We've decided to make a few big changes that will allow more RL students to participate and it will help us make a bigger impact on the community.
The Changes: we will no longer be holding student services every night, serving lunch and dinner and staying overnight. These changes significantly reduce the cost of the trip, so everyone who wants to serve can come out and participate. Also, having more manpower at the DC means we can do more projects and help more people!
Registration: students will be able to sign up on line (New Dream Center Mission Trip Registration) at their life group, or at the Welcome Center on service nights. They will sign up for a particular day, or days, they want to serve. Students are required to bring a parental release form for each day they come down to the DC if they plan on carpooling with us from GLR. We will send these home with your students or you can print one off (See attachment). Please be sure students have a parental release form for each day they plan to serve and ride with us. Don’t forget to include the date at the top.
Transportation: we’ll be carpooling from the GLR campus. Meeting there at 9am and returning around 5pm. Don’t forget the release form :)
The Cost: the cost is only $10! This covers their Dream Center t-shirt and the best part is, they can come every day. If you already have a DC t-shirt you do not need to purchase another one (unless you just want one!). You will pay for it when you get your t-shirt. They just need to wear their DC t-shirt everyday they come. They will also need to pack a lunch.
Agenda: we will be participating in community clean up, renovations to houses and the DC building, and doing yard work. Please bring gloves if you have them! We’ll also be having daily ‘game time’ with the kids that are at the DC. This will take place March 22-26 (Tuesday to Saturday) from 9am to around 5pm.

A letter about the Spring Break Trip to the DREAM CENTER!!!!

Dear RL Students and Parents,
Spring is coming and after all of this snow, I am ready. More importantly, I am ready for Spring Break! March 21-26th RL Student Ministries has an amazing opportunity to team up with the Arkansas Dream Center this Spring Break and do a weeklong inner-city mission trip.
Many of you know that we will be planting a campus in down town Little Rock. Many of the people that the Dream Center reaches daily will call this campus their home church. So our vision for this week is two-fold: to continue to reach the people of the community and to introduce them to New Life Church.
Here is what the week will look like.
Monday-
- Team Training time begins at 6pm. Everyone will be checked in and ready to go!
- Morning Team Worship
- Breakfast
- Community Out Reach
- Lunch
- Kids VBS
- Clean Up
- Dinner
- Night Youth Service reaching the youth of Down Town Little Rock
- Community BBQ
- Baptism Service
- Message from Pastor Neal Scoggins
The Cost will be $150 per person, which will cover all meals, T-shirts and supplies for the week. We will also be sending out a supply list to help offset the cost of feeding ALL the kids lunch every day at the DC. Just think, kids who are used to having lunch at school will not go hungry because we are feeding them.
Because we will be staying at the DC, you will need to have sleeping bags etc. But don’t worry, after sign up we will get a complete list each registered person (make sure your email address is accurate!). We are so excited about getting to do this. If you have any questions please feel free to let me know.

Hey girls!
In lieu of last weeks topic of dating and relationships i thought i'd post a few links for you guys to a few blog posts that do a really good job breaking down this topic and getting straight to the point. This guy is a pastor at a great church in South Carolina and he's got some great thoughts on dating and relationships. (The last link is one of my faves because he gives us ideas about how to specifically pray for future relationships and our future husbands!)

Luke
Hey loves! As you know, we've been going through the book of Luke at church since the beginning of the year. I've tried to focus a lot of my time with God in this book to try and get as much out of it as possible. But for the past week, i haven't been able to get past Luke 6. Every time i try to move on, something moves me back to read it again and again. I challenge you to spend some time reading and digesting it (especially the message version...my gosh, it's so good in the message version). It's changing and shaping the way i view my walk with Christ as well as the way i view and love others.
Luke 6:32 and 33 say this:
"If you love those you love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same."
These verses have been stepping on my toes the past few days. As a Christian I've made a commitment to live completely for God. And that means laying aside myself..my "rights" as i've so often thought of them. That means doing what it takes to further His name and the gospel of His good news. That He's come for the hurting and the lonely. That those who don't think they have a hope in the world can find that they have everything they've ever needed in Him. That he was tortured and bled and died so that we can be forgiven of our own selfish sins.
Luke goes on to say in verse 35 that "He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men". That's ME. How can i not pass on the love that he's given to me to those that have in no way hurt or harmed me the way that I do when I sin against the God whose son was crucified so that I may live?
So this is the challenge that I'm taking up...and i encourage you to consider it as well. 1 Thessalonians 5 says this:
"Rejoice always; Pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks;...abstain from every form of evil."
This is my thought. The average Christian rejoices...but God calls us to rejoice always. Most of us pray...but God calls us to pray without ceasing. It's common to give thanks...but God calls us to give thanks in everything. The basic believer wants to refrain from evil...but again, God tells us to abstain from every form of evil.
Why does he ask us to do these things? It all comes down to two very simple truths.
1. God wants us. All of us. With all of our problems and fears and all that sin that we come with. But he doesn't want us to stay that way. He wants us to accept his love and to grow closer to Him each day because of the love He's lavished on us.
2. He wants us to show to others the love that has so greatly changed us. He calls us to go out into the world, but to be different. To love those that hurt us. To pray for those that persecute us. To rejoice always, in every situation. To run from every form of evil. To love a broken world that does not yet know the love of Christ.
So sweet girls, i urge you...draw near to him...devour his word. let it become something you can't go a day without. let his love change you..from the inside out. and then show that love to those who don't know it. to those that hurt you and cut you down. to those that you would normally never talk to...that the world would never normally talk to. and all the while..rejoice always, pray unceasingly, give thanks in everything and run from every single form of evil.
I love you girls much! Please, let Callie and I know your thoughts on this. And on ways that the Lord is challenging you. We want so much to know the ways He's growing you.

Hey my pretties,
As you all know, we attended the RL girl's event as a small group this past Friday night and it was AMAZING. God moved in a big way. If you weren't able to come, what you NEED to know from that night is that God... the God who made heaven and earth.. who reigns forever and is Holy and Perfect.... is crazy about [you]. You don't have to be someone else to get his attention. He doesn't need your advice or comfort... He doesn't require ANYTHING from you other than your heart.. and once he has your heart and you are able to accept His love.. He will help you make sense of the broken pieces of your life.. and hold you together like a loving father. He will ALWAYS be there. This oughta stir up something inside of your heart... and if it doesn't, let's talk about it ;)

john 16:33.....go read it ;)
hey girls.. i'm sitting here getting ready for life group tonight and i just read this on a blog that my good friend matt huber tweeted about (did you follow that explanation?) It's talking about going through pain (emotional/physical/whatev) in our earthly lives::
"He (God) can bring light out of any darkness, hope out of any despair, healing out of any brokenness…bringing “beautiful things out of the dust; beautiful things out of us.” I don’t have to try to believe this with my brain; it’s deep in my bones. This is why I am still a Christian."
even better than trying to figure out why difficult things are happening in our lives and begging God to change our situation, is the miracle produced inside of us when we face the hard stuff, but know God's goodness well enough to have peace and joy anyway... we don't just know it to be true in our brains, because there are other things true about the world that could confuse us.. if we store "God is always good" in our brains right next to "marriages fail" or "my friend died from cancer"... the enemy might be able to rob us of our reassurance in the hope and promise of our God. it is when we are so sure of God's goodness, deep down in the bones of who we are, and we know that the troubles of this world are light and momentary compared to an eternity with Jesus.. that we can't be shaken.. now THAT is God working a miracle in our lives.. never lose heart, beautiful girls...

praying this for you..
Hey girls,
As I've been reading this week I keep coming back to this verse in Ephesians:
"I pray that out of His glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen."
And i wanted yall to know that I'm praying this for you this week. That the Lord will strengthen you with his POWER in your inner being.. strengthen you in your hearts and minds so that Christ can dwell there through your faith.. THINK about this:: the power of Christ dwelling in your inner being.. helping you understand how wide and long and high and deep His love for you is. if we could truly grasp that........ there would be no such thing as a bad day :)

club... group... team
hi girls... we were talking at life group last night and we thought it might be cool to have a blog for our life group... ya know, so we can post stuff for you guys throughout the week if we have some encouragement for yall or maybe different scriptures that we think would be good for yall.. or cool thoughts or just anything, really... mainly because we love you! anyway, and hopefully you guys can post some stuff too!
you should know that: becca and i LOVE making video blogs.. and we crack ourselves up regularly. so we will not be offended if you don't think we are as funny as WE think we are. (yes, we will)..
