hey girls.. i'm sitting here getting ready for life group tonight and i just read this on a blog that my good friend matt huber tweeted about (did you follow that explanation?) It's talking about going through pain (emotional/physical/whatev) in our earthly lives::
"He (God) can bring light out of any darkness, hope out of any despair, healing out of any brokenness…bringing “beautiful things out of the dust; beautiful things out of us.” I don’t have to try to believe this with my brain; it’s deep in my bones. This is why I am still a Christian."
even better than trying to figure out why difficult things are happening in our lives and begging God to change our situation, is the miracle produced inside of us when we face the hard stuff, but know God's goodness well enough to have peace and joy anyway... we don't just know it to be true in our brains, because there are other things true about the world that could confuse us.. if we store "God is always good" in our brains right next to "marriages fail" or "my friend died from cancer"... the enemy might be able to rob us of our reassurance in the hope and promise of our God. it is when we are so sure of God's goodness, deep down in the bones of who we are, and we know that the troubles of this world are light and momentary compared to an eternity with Jesus.. that we can't be shaken.. now THAT is God working a miracle in our lives.. never lose heart, beautiful girls...
